A company is created when a land grant is developed next to a lone land grant which has already been developed. A new company cannot be created if seven companies are already in existence.
When the player develops the land grant, he or she must select the company that will be created from the Company menu. Only the companies available for creation, will be selectable.
The player is then issued a single share of stock for creating the company. The player that played the initial lone grant, does not receive a creator's share.
